The remaining 11 remain in custody and under "active investigation". One has been released without charge. Eight of the suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit murder and the preparation of terrorist acts, namely the intention "to smuggle the component parts of improvised explosive devices onto aircraft and assemble and detonate them on board". They are: Ahmed Adbullah Ali, (aka Adbullah Ali Ahmed Khan), 26, London E17 Tanvir Hussain, 24, London E10 Waheed Arafat Khan, 24, London E17 Assad Ali Sarwar, 25, High Wycombe Ibrahim Savant, 26, London E17 Waheed Zaman, 22, London E17 Umar Islam (aka Brian Young), 28, High Wycombe Osman Adam Khatib, 20, London E17 One suspect, a 17-year-old youth, was charged with possessing articles useful for terrorist purposes under the Terrorism Act 2000. These included a book about improvised explosives devices, suicide notes and wills of co-conspirators and an annotated map of Afghanistan. Two suspects were charged with failing to disclose information that they knew or believed might be of material assistance about an act of terrorism.
