Palestinian PM thanks Iran's Basij for aid to Palestine
Tehran, Dec 13, IRNA

Iran-Palestine-Haniya
Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya, in a message sent before his
departure from Tehran, thanked Iran's Basij (volunteer forces) for the
aid it extended to the elected government of Palestine, it was reported
here Tuesday evening.

The prime minister was in Iran on a four-day visit which took place at
the official invitation of First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi.

He and his entourage departed for the Sudanese capital Khartoum Monday
morning.

Palestinian sources in Tehran, in a statement a copy of which was faxed
to IRNA Tuesday evening, said that Haniya thanked Iran's Basij forces
"for their five-billion-rial aid to the Palestinian nation."
The statement said that Basij forces donated the amount to Haniya after
he delivered a speech to students at Sharif Industrial University in
Tehran on Sunday.

The Palestinian premier also appreciated the government of Iran for its
humanitarian support to the Palestinian nation, said the statement.

During his stay in Tehran, Haniya met with, among other officials,
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and
Vice-President Davoudi.
