LONDON, February 1 (IranMania) - Iranian Oil Minister Kazem
Vaziri-Hamaneh said that Iran will start gas exports to Switzerland and
Austria in 2012.

Iran has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Switzerland and
Austria, and, “Gas transfers to these European states will begin in
2012,” the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) quoted Hamaneh as saying.

In late December, ISNA reported the managing director of the National
Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) as saying that Iran and Switzerland
have signed a heads of agreement (HOA) on gas transfer to the European
state.

“We have agreed on gas transfer via a pipeline passing through Turkey,”
ISNA quoted Nosratollah Seifi as saying.

The Swiss have asked for the transfer of 0.5 to 4.5 bln cubic meters of
Iran’s gas intended to be used in markets like Italy, he added.

The official continued, “Ongoing talks with Econgas Company, an
affiliate of Austria’s OMV, revolve around the transfer of 10 bln cubic
meters of gas per year.”
