Terror attack averted in Moscow

Powerful terror attack averted in Moscow

On May 9, a car with 20 kg of plastic explosive was defused in Profsoyuznaya
Street, 26, in Moscow. The explosive device was installed into the rear seat
of a Lada sedan with car plates registered in Moscow. Steel balls were found
inside the trunk. According to Vesti, the explosive device was not
activated, but it would have taken only several minutes to do it.

Under preliminary reports, two young men are detained under suspicion of
being involved in mining the car.

As a witness told a REGNUM correspondent, the building was sealed off by
police up to 05:00 p.m. Sappers were working on the site, all residents of
the apartment block were evacuated. Now, all residents returned to their
apartments; the cordoning off was lifted, the correspondent reports.
