ANKARA, Turkey (CNN) -- A "major" explosion outside of a shopping area in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Tuesday caused several casualties, according to CNN Turk. Ankara's governor, Kamal Onal said at least 20 people were injured and police sources said there are some deaths. Onal initially said the blast appeared to be an accident, but later said it could have been a bomb. The explosion occurred in the neighborhood of Ulus at the entrance of a building described as a seven-story shopping center. It occurred during the rush hour and when the area was packed with people. News video showed bloody, injured people, some being carried onto stretchers. Body parts were seen by witnesses. Ambulances were at the scene, and debris was strewn. Windows were knocked out of the building. Journalist Gokhan Eron told CNN from the scene that there were "numerous wounded on the ground." He had also seen what he believed were dead bodies outside the seven-storey shopping center.
