WOODLAND, Calif. -- A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with an
April attack against an Amtrak engineer and conductor, the Yolo County
District Attorney's Office said.

On Aug. 11, a grand jury indicted five suspected members of the Broderick
Boys gang in connection with the April 16 assault, which occurred along
train tracks in West Sacramento.

Four suspects were arrested earlier, but suspect Pauliton Nunes had remained
at large. He was captured by Sacramento police last weekend and is now in
custody in the Yolo County Jail.

Authorities said the train was forced to stop by one of the suspects
standing on the tracks. An indictment alleges that the engineer was attacked
by the suspects and struck in the head with rocks, bottles and a fire
extinguisher.

All five suspects face one count of attempted murder, three counts of
assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon
upon a public transit employee, one count of battery with serious bodily
injury, one county of attempted robbery, one count of vandalism, one count
of active participation in criminal street gang activity, two counts of
assault on public transit employees as well as enhancements for alleged gang
activity and infliction of great bodily injury.

Nunes is set to be arraigned today.

The other four suspects are Daniel Bonge, Austen Nunes, Orlando Ramos and
Robert Reynolds.

Some of the suspects are minors, but all are being prosecuted as adults.
