By Orlando Dinoy, Charlie SeƱase Mindanao Bureau Last updated 05:41pm (Mla time) 11/27/2007 DIGOS CITY, Philippines -- Police have tightened security after two incendiary bombs were found at a public high school in this southern Philippine city Monday afternoon. The bombs -- placed inside separate comfort rooms of the Davao del Sur National High School -- were discovered three days after a powerful blast killed one person and wounded seven others in Kidapawan City in North Cotabato. Sergeant Jose Conseja of the Army's explosive and ordnance team said the bombs were fashioned out of two bottles with gasoline and fitted with wicks. The wicks were lighted when a janitor discovered the explosives. Conseja said although the blast would not be as powerful as other bombs, it would certainly burn the school's buildings. Chief Inspector Caezar Cabuhat, city police chief, said the bomb was made by a non-expert. Police have identified a possible suspect, said Cabuhat, but he declined to elaborate. In Kidapawan City, Mayor Rodolfo Gantuanco has reminded the people to be vigilant at all times as the terror threat remains high in the city. Gantuangco said the Alkobar gang, which was responsible for the KMCC mall blast Thursday, could again be plotting fresh attacks. Gantuangco had earlier said a member of the gang, which allegedly has ties with the al-Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf group, called him up before the explosion and demanded P500,000. He said the unidentified man gave him a few hours to comply with the demand. Gantuangco said shortly after he rejected a call, which could have been from the same man, the bomb went off at the KMCC. Last month, the Alkobar gang also set off two bombs in Kidapawan City, killing three persons and wounding several others. The gang is also being blamed for the series of attacks on bus companies plying the central and southern Mindanao regions.
