KUWAIT : Three Kuwaiti ex-Guantanamo prisoners, Adel Al-Zamel, Abdullah Al-Kandari and Sa'ad Al-Azmi released a joint statement severely criticizing Al-Watan daily for distorting their views offered in an interview to the daily, reports Al-Wasat daily. The three men denied what was attributed to them about the radicalism of two religious leaders. Al-Watan carried a story quoting them as saying that the ideology of Jihad instigators such as Sheikh Salman Al-Oudah and Syed Iman Al-Sharif is more radical and dangerous than that of Osama bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri. Al-Zamil, who returned to the country from Guantanamo in 2005, said more lives were lost and much more blood was squandered in the name of jihad because of Salman than Osama bin Laden. "Salman is more hostile towards Jews and the American presence in the Arabian Peninsula than bin Laden," he added. He said the American government is looking for Salman Abu Ghaith, a spokesman of Al-Qaeda, "who has neither thoughts nor any books" instead of tracking Al-Oudah and Al-Sharif. Another ex-detainee Sa'ad Al-Azmi confirmed that guards at Guantanamo spat and urinated on the Holy Quran and threw it in toilets. He added that he is under surveillance and accused the Americans of stealing nearly $ 100, 000 from him.
