And the Emmy for Dumbest Islamist Propagandist Goes To. Military professionals from the Vietnam era scornfully refer to the "McNamara 100,000"-the often reluctant draftees for whom standards were lowered in order to provide the numbers the administration thought would win the war. Many officers from that time insist that the increase in drug use, lack of discipline and overall degrading of the force stemmed from this policy. The all-volunteer force is supposed to solve that problem for us-and there is plenty of evidence that the United States military man for man has never been a more effective, disciplined fighting force. Exhibit One that standards may be slipping after 9 years of war: PFC Nasser Abdo. Apparently, he's so stupid that a year ago, he had no idea that the United States Army was in combat operations in Muslim countries. Al <http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/printgroupProfile.asp?grpid=6962> Jazeera, of course, jumped all over the story holding Abdo up as a heroic figure. PFC NASSER ABDO "I don't believe I can involve myself in an army that wages war against Muslims. I don't believe I could sleep at night if I take part, in any way, in the killing of a Muslim." And of course, CNN had to follow suit with a nearly just as sympathetic interview in which Abdo expanded his justification by a country mile: ABDO: "I don't think Islam allows me to operate in any kind of warfare at all. Sounds like somebody's lawyer told him conscientious objector status wouldn't be granted to someone who was that selective. But it's more likely that Abdo just didn't want to get shot. ABDO on CNN: I really didn't think it would be a problem. As the time came near to deployment I started to really ask myself and to take the question more seriously. whether I was really meant to go to war. Hmmm. I bet some guys wondered that same thing as the landing craft approached Omaha Beach. Like every other coward who has tried to avoid combat after hoping he could get an Army paycheck without it, Abdo has a justification. He has come to the conclusion that he is prohibited from killing other Muslims-note that those are the ONLY people he says he is prohibited from killing. Here is the translation, courtesy of Middle East Media Resarch Institute: "This Muslim Soldier is Refusing to be Sent with His Unit because . as a Muslim He is Forbidden to Kill Muslims" Reporter: "The Muslim U.S. soldier Nasser Abdo prays five times a day where he lives near the Fort Campbell base in Kentucky, from where some 5,000 soldiers are to be sent to Afghanistan as part of President Obama's plan, which strives to eliminate the Taliban. Abdo's fellow soldiers are preparing for deployment to Afghanistan soon, according to their orders. But this Muslim soldier is refusing to be sent with his unit, because, he exclaims, as a Muslim he is forbidden to kill Muslims." Nasser Abdo: "I don't believe I can involve myself in an army that wages war against Muslims. I don't believe I could sleep at night if I take part, in any way, in the killing of a Muslim." Reporter: "Nasser says that he has chosen to live his life according to the teachings of Islam. Therefore, he has requested - in accordance with U.S. law - to be discharged from service, because this runs counter to the teachings of his religion. But he says that his commanders have been procrastinating, and to this day, have not given him a clear answer. He has decided not to go to Afghanistan, even though he knows that he might face two years in prison." Nasser Abdo: "They haven't processed my packet at all. I even heard from my unity commander that they lost my military record. I can't deploy with my unit to Afghanistan and participate in the war - I can't both deploy and be a Muslim." "Army sources Told Al-Jazeera TV that the Serviceman Nasser would Not be Sent to Afghanistan within the Next Few Days" Reporter: "The armed command at Fort Campbell issued a written statement in response to our questions regarding the case of serviceman Nasser Abdo, according to which the U.S. army recognizes that a soldier's religious beliefs may change over time. It said, however, that discharge is an administrative procedure that takes six months. "Army sources told Al-Jazeera TV that the serviceman Nasser would not be sent to Afghanistan within the next few days, and that his application was under review, but the final decision whether to send him to Afghanistan or not was up to his direct commander in Fort Campbell. For his part, serviceman Nasser Abdo expects to get his deployment orders at any moment. "It is a military secret, and therefore serviceman Nasser Abdo cannot tell us when his unit will be headed to Afghanistan. It will, however, be soon, and Abdo will not be with them. He will, apparently, be facing a prison sentence. "He has one lawyer, and his wife from Canada runs a website to raise money to finance his defense. The family of serviceman Nasser Abdo is preparing for a lengthy and bitter legal battle. "This is Nasser Hussein, Al-Jazeera TV, from Kentucky." Yes, that is certainly our experience with those pacifistic <http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/viewSubCategory.asp?id=774> Muslim countries around the world, why their governments and militaries don't mostly kill other Muslims. do they? Ask Neda's mother about that sometime. Let me take this moment to assist in Abdo's defense. In order for his religious objection defense to fly, he's going to have to show that his objections are truly religious and not a notion peculiar only to him. So, based on the actions of Muslim countries and governments around the world, here is a partial list of the only conditions in which a Muslim is allowed to kill another Muslim: I cannot kill another Muslim unless: 1. It's a Muslim woman relative who has embarrassed me somehow 2. It's a Muslim who disagrees with me over who should have succeeded Mohammed-even though that person has been dead for over 1000 years. 3. It's a Muslim who happens to be nearby when a car bomb goes off 4. It's a Muslim who is signing up to protect his neighborhood from terrorists 5. It's a Muslim peacefully demonstrating for democratic change in her country The Army isn't buying it either. Abdo is being prosecuted and faces up to 2 years in the pokey. At least there, he won't take any good men down with him. _____ Article printed from NewsReal Blog: http://www.newsrealblog.com URL to article: http://www.newsrealblog.com/2010/09/01/and-the-emmy-for-dumbest-islamist-pro pagandist-goes-to%e2%80%a6-2/ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ -------------------------- Want to discuss this topic?
