Philippines: Bomb Blast in Bus Terminal "A bomb blast believed caused by an improvised bomb ripped through a bus terminal in the southern Philippines on Monday, injuring three people. One of those injured was the man believed to have carried the bag containing the explosive, regional police spokesman Chief Inspector Jomar Alexis Yap said. 'The motive is still being established and no group has claimed responsibility for the incident,' Mr Yap said. The explosion occurred at the bus terminal of Carmen, a town on strife-torn Mindanao Island, the countries southern third wracked by a decades-old Muslim separatist rebellion. In October, a powerful bomb exploded aboard a passenger bus in the nearby town of Matalam, killing nine people. That attack was initially blamed on criminal gangs specializing in extortion, although the military said Muslim separatist rebels operating in the area may have also been involved."
