Chinese Chemicals Sold To Drug Lords- Bill Collier

The Chinese are quietly profiting in the untold hundreds of millions of
dollars from a lucrative traffic in chemical agents used to produce illicit
drugs, such as Methamphetamine.

Recently, Mexican officials, struggling against a virtue armed rebellion by
drug gangs, found 80 tons of phenylacetic acid and its derivatives, although
that is only the tip of the iceberg. Other containers include
pseudoephedrine, a drug used in cold medicine but readily convertible into
Meth.

The Chinese are selling vast quantities of chemicals like this, no questions
ask, which are landing at Central American ports where officials who do not
know what the stuff if, just let it in. These chemicals come in containers,
often from cities like Shanghai, labeled innocently enough, are placed on
trucks, or even rail lines, and sent north. Generally, the destination is
Mexico where drug gangs then ship them into the US or use them for
manufacturing in Mexico.

According to a Reuters report, "Meth flooded back onto U.S. streets in 2009,
at even lower prices, U.S. officials say, as innovating Mexican cartels made
their Meth with harder-to-detect common chemicals like phenylacetic acid,
used in food flavorings and perfumes."

Meth is now taking the lead over marijuana and cocaine for drug gangs
seeking to make a quick buck, and with the Chinese "don't ask, don't tell"
policy on selling these chemicals, Meth use in the US is back on the rise.

In addition to drug manufacturing raw materials, China is also evidently
exporting, illicitly, vast quantities of guns to Mexican Drug Gangs, as
reported and photographed by reporters from the Examiner.
