Not naïve…criminally ignorant, I’ll go along with.

B

A Congressional Intelligence Committee Hearing showed that some figures in
the administration are either naïve or criminally ignorant about the global
terror threat.

Terrorism: How Much Trouble Are We In?...Quite a Bit

Almost from the beginning there has been a debate on whether the Obama
Administration was inexperienced and naïve or agenda driven and calculating.
We watched Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, behind closed doors and using every
tool of political coercion available, ramrod health insurance reform down
the throats of an unwilling American public. At that point many thought the
Progressive machine one of ruthless cunning; a contingent of callous
ideologues willing to inflict grave political consequences upon the Democrat
party in order to achieve a long sought goal. But, that illusion was
shattered, and by an element of the administration that traditionally should
have known better.

As the Egyptian people swarmed Tahrir Square in anticipation of what they
thought would be Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s resignation, as reports
that Mr. Mubarak would be handing over control of the Egyptian government to
either his vice president, Omar Suleiman, the Egyptian Military Council or a
combination of both, the US National Intelligence Director, James Clapper,
made one of the most unintelligent, uninformed and naïve observations since
Neville Chamberlain returned from his meeting with Adolf Hitler
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Chamberlain#Aftermath_and_reception>
declaring “...peace for our time.”

When asked by US Rep, Sue Myrick (R-NC), during testimony before the House
Intelligence Committee Thursday, about the threat the Muslim Brotherhood
poses by their inclusion in any post-Mubarak government, Mr. Clapper – who
is in charge of all United States intelligence agencies as Director of
National Intelligence –
<http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/02/10/dni_james_clapper_muslim_
brotherhood_a_largely_secular_group.html> replied:

“The term Muslim Brotherhood is an umbrella term for a variety of movements.
In the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which
eschewed violence and decried al-Qaeda as a version of Islam.”

The notion that the Muslim Brotherhood is “heterogeneous” and “largely
secular,” besides being untruthful, is pathetically laughable. The
declaration that the Muslim Brotherhood “eschewed violence” and “decried al
Qaeda,” in addition to being, again, untruthful and pathetically laughable,
is dangerously naïve and tantamount to a dereliction of duty.

When you add to the mix that last December, in the immediate aftermath of
the arrest of 12 high-value terror suspects in Britain, Mr. Clapper was
<http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/dec/23/us-intelligence-chief-unaware-t
error> caught ignorant of the event during an ABC News interview with Diane
Sawyer, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to ask how in the hell Mr. Clapper
continues on in his post.

To be clear, the
<http://www.basicsproject.org/islamist_terrorism/the_muslim_brotherhood.htm>
Muslim Brotherhood is the group responsible for the birth of Hamas and
Palestinian Islamic Jihad. It delivered unto al Qaeda its number two, Ayman
al Zawahiri, and was directly responsible for the assassination of Egyptian
President Anwar Sadat. Its purpose is to not only guard the purity of the
tenets of fundamentalist Islam, but to facilitate the establishment of a
global Islamist caliphate; a global government that would exist under
oppressive, intolerant and totalitarian Sharia Law. The Muslim Brotherhood’s
credo:

“God is our objective, the Quran is our Constitution, the Prophet is our
leader, struggle is our way, and death for the sake of God is the highest of
our aspirations.”

If that weren’t bad enough, Mr. Clapper has a partner in his intellectually
challenged naiveté: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

Recently, at an event at the University of El Paso – just across the Rio
Grande River from Ciudad Juarez, a town ravaged by an unprecedented wave of
drug-fueled violence –
<http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110201/ap_on_re_us/us_border_napolitano_9>
Sec. Napolitano said:

“It’s inaccurate to state, as too many have, that the border is overrun with
violence and out of control...This statement, often made only to score
political points, is just plain wrong.”

This stunning statement flies in the face of daily reports of violence
extending into the United States. The city of Phoenix rivals Mexico City in
the number of drug cartel related
<http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=6848672&page=1> kidnappings.
ak-respond-protester-demands/> Human trafficking from Mexico into the United
States is at an all time high. Border Patrol agents are
<http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/supporters-slain-border-patrol-agent-brian-t
erry-seek/story?id=12734311> being killed by drug cartel gangs possessing
superior firepower. And bullets from drug cartel gang shootouts have
<http://www.brownsvilleherald.com/articles/building-102000-university-bullet
s.html> struck buildings on the University of Texas Brownsville campus. To
paraphrase Sec. Napolitano, it is inaccurate – and many would agree with me,
criminal – not to state that the border is “overrun with violence and out of
control.”

Add to all this the fact – the fact – that radical Islamist jihadis
<http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/mar/27/hezbollah-uses-mexican-drug
-routes-into-us/> are partnering with Mexican and South American drug
cartels so as to exploit their smuggling operations for the purposes of
moving operatives into the United States, and the notion that the borders of
the United States of America are secure is maddening to the point of being
obscene.

Yet, for all their inaction, for all their apathy for the facts, for all
their arrogant ignorance, for all the danger they have foisted upon the
people of the United States, Clapper has the gall
<http://www.sandiego6.com/news/national/story/U-S-intel-chief-says-terror-st
ill-top-threat-to-U/KKBtd-DaekiDM4u_UfXStg.cspx?rss=802> to say, “Terrorism
is the top national security threat facing the US homeland, and job No. 1
for the intelligence community, “ while Napolitano
<http://www.theage.com.au/world/us-terror-threat-nears-911-level-20110210-1a
ojo.html> says, “The threat of terrorism against the US may be at its
highest level since the September 11, 2001, attacks.”

As revolution engulfs the Middle East – and with the radical Islamists, the
Muslim Brotherhood and the Iranian mullahs pushing hard for the advancement
of fundamentalist Islam, first throughout the region and then throughout the
world in the form of a global Caliphate – how can We the People tolerate the
incompetence inflicted upon us by the Obama Administration with regard to
national intelligence and national security? How, in the name of the Lord
Almighty, are Mr. Clapper and Ms. Napolitano still employed by the federal
government? How is the security of the most powerful nation on Earth
entrusted to these two unaware, uneducated, uninformed, agenda-driven
political lackeys?

The call for an immediate investigation into the competency of James Clapper
and Janet Napolitano must be heard on Capitol Hill. Ignorance in the
execution of national intelligence led to the deaths of 2,985 people on
September 11, 2001, and can be viewed as nothing less than an affront to our
nation. The refusal to accept the facts – as they present – in national
security is akin to aiding and abetting foreign criminal enterprises. Both
shortcomings cannot be tolerated any longer and shouldn’t have been
tolerated in the first place.

The blame for the incompetence in the execution of national security at the
highest levels – the blame for the infliction of James Clapper and Janet
Napolitano on the American people – lies exclusively with President Barack
Obama and his immediate inner circle, including his girl Friday, Valerie
Jarrett. Should Mr. Obama decline to fire these two for dereliction of duty
– immediately – the powers that be in the United States House of
Representatives should look into qualifying high crimes and misdemeanors
against Mr. Obama for not honoring his oath to, to the best of his ability,
“preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

So help me God!
