Are you fucking serious. I hope the people of South Carolina wake up and get
this RINO out of office.

oran_burning_.html> Politico reports:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a military lawyer, is the first member of
Congress to say the legislature needs to explore the possibility, however
unlikely, of limiting some kinds of free speech - like Terry Jones' Quran
burning - that help America's enemies.

Ever notice Graham sometimes sounds just like a progressive Democrat?

"I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a
great idea, but we're in a war," he told CBS's Bob Schieffer on "Face the
Nation."

Graham sounds like a Constitution-hating leftist.

"During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the
enemy," Graham said, adding that he wanted to do "anything we can to push
back here in America against acts like this that put our troops at risk."

How about holding those responsible for killing innocent people for the
burning of their "holy" book responsible RINO? Instead, Graham wants to
limit individual's 1st Amendment Rights.

oran_burning_.html> Graham: Explore limits on Quran burnings

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a military lawyer, is the first member of
Congress to say the legislature needs to explore the possibility, however
unlikely, of limiting some kinds of free speech - like Terry Jones' Quran
burning - that help America's enemies.

"I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a
great idea, but we're in a war," he told CBS's Bob Schieffer on "Face the
Nation."

"During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the
enemy," Graham said, adding that he wanted to do "anything we can to push
back here in America against acts like this that put our troops at risk."

Graham also continued his attack on President Barack Obama's decision to
pull back in Libya saying, it "comforted" Col. Muammar Qadhafi and ensured a
"stalemate" in Libya.

Instead, he urged "taking the fight to Tripoli" - targeting Qadhafi's inner
circle and arming the rebels with tank-killing missiles.

"Well, you certainly made some news," Schieffer quipped after the
five-minute interview.

1. Limiting my rights because savages riot and kill on the other side of
the world is obsene.

2. Sorry, but banning burning of the Quran but not the American flag,
the Bible or effigies of the president is a violation of free speech and
separation of church and state. It's also kowtowing to radical Islam and
granting it de facto veto power over any Constituionally-protected action
that it finds offensive. Draw Mohammed? Not allowed. Write a book critical
of Mohammed? Not allowed. Criticize Shari'a law? Not allowed. And on and on
into dhimmitude.

3. Like Dick Turban, limp wristed Lindsay refuses to hold the animals
who are truly responsible, the islamic terrorists who killed and beheaded
those UN personnel

4. Lindsey is sure playing to the peanut gallery on this one. Or maybe
he hasn't heard of the US Constitution either. If he hasn't, its about time
he learn it. If he has, then he shouldn't be grandstanding on this issue
where he knows the final outcome. Burn, baby, burn; if it is permissible to
burn American flags as an expression of free speech, does he think some
court is gonna say its wrong to burn a book?

5. I don't agree with destruction and book burnings however, burning a
book, in no way, equals killing someone. What this Preacher shows us is how
"Barbaric" Islamist are and their willingness to destroy life, liberty, and
the pursuit of happiness. I say let's burn more Korans and force the hands
of would be Islamist terrorist. A spiraling death rate is the only way to
pinpoint the reality Islam teaches and strengthen our resolve to force
Moderate Islamist to take a stand for tolerance of we bury them and their
religion. It's a harsh thought but, it is reality.

6. Freedomfighter, the islamic lunatics who killed all those people are
responsible, and nobody else. Radical terrorist jihadists would find any
excuse, so If not the Koran, it would be something else, like a cartoonist.
If they didn't kill a bunch of UN personnel, it would probably have been
some 14 year old muslim girl, who had the distinct honor of being gang raped
by muslim men, and was rewarded by being stoned to death. These islamic
lunatics are evil. Evil must be eradicated, by any means necessary.

7. Sen. Lindsey Graham is a spineless, sniveling, girlie-man of a
coward. To even consider giving up even one of America's constitutional
rights because some whack-jobs in Afghanistan get excited only shows that as
far as Sen. Lindsey Graham is concerned Afghanistan has won the war. This
fruitcake is ready to buckle under on one of America's most cherished and
valued freedoms and throw it under the bus because HE sees a few rag-heads
raise a little hell. What next Senator, which of our freedoms would you cede
next because some mob somewhere on earth decides to hold a demonstration.
You are an un-American loser, Senator, and you don't deserve the seat you
hold.

8. Graham is a simpleton. Jones' burning of the Quran does not "help the
enemy". They don't need an excuse to riot and kill. These animals are
uncivilized and making nice is not going to change their fanatical culture.
America will not conform to their bogus made up government/religion.

Posted By: Cheetosareus | April 03, 2011 at 03:20 PM

9. There is no way you are going to be able to set limits on free speech
- the burning of the Quran is free political speech. Not to say that it was
wise, or didn't inflame muslims to kill people, but it is protected.

10. Freethinker, are YOU the "WE" you are talking about? It's always the
case isn't it? WE will decide what is best for you. WE will decide what
freedoms are worthy. WE will decide what is and what is not a religion. WE
will decide how much salt you will put on your food. WE will decide what
kind of light bulbs you use and on and on.. No, freethinker, YOU decide what
is good for YOU and I will decide what is good for me of ME.

11. Will Graham simultaneously move to shut down, even criminalize the Trey
Parker and Matt Stone's Broadway play "The Book of Mormon" that demeans the
Mormon religion's sacred scripture and prophet? If free speech is to be
denied relative to religions and their scriptures, it must be equally
applied to all.

12. Muslims mass murder non muslims EVERYDAY around the world. They burn
churches and books of the non muslims. Yet no politicians say a damn thing.
These muslims are following what the koran spells out for them. Europe is
waking and it may be to late. The US needs to wake up before it is to late
here. Islam is backwards and will be till every koran is burned and it
ceases to exist.

Posted By: yolo | April 03, 2011 at 04:27 PM

13. The people who need to be schooled on social boundaries are not
American pastors exercising their rights, however stupidly.

Muslims who think it's okay to riot and kill because of a rumor that
multiple Korans were being burned are the ones that need a lesson in civics,
maturity and tolerance. When someone burns a book that is not the equivalent
of killing innocent people.

Instead, our transnational global libs take the jihadist side and suggest
America curtail it's basic tenets, something more likely to fuel more
jihadist fervor and sense of victory than the burning itself.

Regardless of who burned what, Afghans who did this need to feel the full
fury of the globe at their ignorant actions. Muslims worldwide should ensure
this doesn't happen again, not by restricting Americans, but by teaching
their Afghan brothers what's right and what's wrong.

Every time they riot in response to half-baked rumors from illiterates, it
makes it ten times harder for Americans to support moderate Muslims who say
they're trying to make their religion evolve into the 21st century.

Your desire to enable Islamofascists is noted Lindsey, but unfortunately for
you, the US constitution grants protection to what the Pastor did. Right to
freedom of Speech includes speech that someone may find offensive

14. The Apostle Paul didn't have a problem with people burning their books
of falsehood. Read the Bible - Acts 19:19 Nor did he worry about the
consequences of confronting a society different then his own with the
message of the Truth. In many cities where Paul preached, uprisings occured
by men who wanted to keep worshiping their idols and false gods. Should we
not tell people that Muhammad was a false prophet and that his writings are
worthless, even if it offends them. And should we then not give them the one
who is the TRUTH, Jesus Christ. I dare say that the apostle Paul would
probably be considered a fringe, wacko preacher by tody's toleration of
everything standards. You don't really love your brother if you aren't man
enough to tell them the TRUTH. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq_2GP8csWE

16. Where are these cowardly pols when Christians are murdered by these
scum? When the Bible is banned by muslim governments? Burn all Qurons and
deport all muslims.

17. If a Koran were treated tenderly, wrapped in sparkly paper, and set on
a bed of feathers, while the person setting it there expressed opposition to
Islam in outrageous and insulting terms, would IT be protected free speech?
Would Graham and Reid also try to stop this person from expressing his
criticism of an ideology that is both religious and political and "find a
way to hold him accountable"? Is a person destroying an inanimate object
owned by no one but himself responsible for murders others commit because
they are enraged that someone has the temerity to destroy a sacred symbol of
their religion within the United States? It sounds like this debate is all
boiling down to American politicians allowing or not allowing free speech
based on the treatment of an inanimate, albeit highly symbolic, object,
while avoiding placing blame on the actual perpetrators of the crimes
because it complicates a war strategy. Attempting to stifle criticism of a
religion has no basis in the Constitution.

18. Remember Graham's moronic comments and oust him next election. Any bozo
who equates a peaceful political statement with the Dark Age Islamic
reaction and who thinks it wise to side with unnamed "rebels" (i.e. Al Qaeda
thugs) is mentally incapable of holding office.

19. Okay, consider the topic of banning any kind of expression explored...
and let's donate the money that would need to be spent getting Graham's
Foolishness before the Supreme Court to Nutrition Programs for Failure To
Thrive Babies or Pell Grants. Graham should be ashamed of himself. You don't
toss out the bits that you find inconvenient. Well you shouldn't... I almost
forgot about the Patriot Act. Where did he get his Law Degree? Liberty
University? What's next? If Jones and his merry band of illiterate book
BBQ'ers want to make a point - about how much more they love their book, I
suggest that they go on a Mission trip to some dusty, dirty corner of
Afghanistan that is ruled by Jones' Intellectual Twin - and burn the books
there. As the flames rise - the thugs who think that the correct response to
a book burning is murder can riot and set **** on fire while Jones and his
band of 50 toss fuel into the fire. At the end of the evening - we can do a
head count - if there are more Illiterate Book Burning Zealots from Florida
standing they can claim that their fluffy lord who likes to give rules to
illiterate Goat Herders RULEZ - if there are more Rioting, Murderous Thugs
standing then their fluffy lord who decided to retell the same fairy tales
to yet another Illiterate Goat Herder wins. Either way - no innocent people
have to die in the name of archaic, laughable nonsense and the rest of us
win.

20. REALITY ------ these guys are preaching "kill Americans" ----- let's
not get carried away with feeling sorry for them.

21. I was all set to blast Lindsey on this on so many levels, only to find
that others have beaten me to it! Suffice it to say that I stand with those
defending our first amendment rights. And I agree with their assessment of
Graham's unpatriotic stand! He IS a DemoRepublicratcan!

22. So someone burned a quran...big deal!!! I wouldn't do it, but who
cares. How many Christian bodies (their own people) and Bibles have they
burned, raped and pillaged in their own countries, thousands upon thousands.
And they want sympathy from who...us??? I say pull out and let God take
over, they condemned themselves already when they openly threated Israel on
national TV. Believe it or not Muslims out their, our Christian Bible says "
whoever threatens Israel is like sticking a needle in the apple of Gods
eye". You don't have to believe our Bible, God doesn't care what you think
at all, but it will still happen anyway.....as it is now. It doesn't take a
rocket scientist to see that every Muslim country is going through turmoil
right now. It's no accident or just some phase their going through.

26. Miss Lindsey is all upset! I say, free speech should include tarring
and feathering him/her and running him/her out of town on a rail...

Posted By: Not Chicken Little | April 03, 2011 at 07:55 PM

27. I would like to say this about tarring and feathering to stop the
wishing of it's use once and for all. Tarring and feathering was an
inhumanly barbaric practice. Does one realize that the usual culmination of
the practice of tarring and feathering was a hideous and prolonged suffering
and sometimes death! "This practice appears to have been practiced primarily
among mobs and vigilantes, rather than being an officially sanctioned form
of punishment. Depending on the temperature of the tar and the attitude of
the crowd, it could sometimes become quite violent and rather dangerous. Hot
tar could cause significant burns, and removing the tar would pull out hair
and pieces of skin, potentially putting the victim at risk of infection.
Theoretically, covering the skin in tar would also prevent it from
breathing, potentially causing death". The use of such a practice would make
the practitioners no better than the savage's murdering of innocents,
(because of something someone half a world away did)! Punish Graham at the
ballot box in a civilized manner!

Democrat voters... This man is NO American Conservative (Classical Liberal)

29. Graham needs to sit down and shut up. American's are not in the mood to
have some clown telling them that he's going to take their rights away.

Sit down and shut up!!

30. Saying Jones' actions are DIRECTLY responsible for crazed murderers'
actions is saying that it's your own fault if your house gets burgled
because you didn't put grills on all the windows, or your fault if you get
raped because you went outside. People, please understand this is a part of
global jihad and it's about the murder and mayhem, not what "triggers" it.
If it wasn't Jones, it would have been a toy pig in a car driving past a
mosque.

31. "You have to understand that the Quaran is the word of God, delivered
directly to Muhammed in its entirety by the angel Gabriel." We have the word
of mortal man that the WORD OF GOD was given to "a" mortal man by an angel
on behalf of GOD! As one who does not believe in any organized religion I
find that just a whole lot suspicious! No 'one' WORD OF GOD is any more
valid or invalid than any other WORD OF GOD! To murder innocents because of
this contradicts the WORD OF GOD as given to muhammed, (who married a
prepubescent girl). Does it not?

Posted By: jfhdsiu | April 03, 2011 at 09:53 PM

32. jfhdsiu, No.. only muslims are innocent.. non-muslims are always
guilty.. that's islam
