Why Obama's rush to take credit and expose the Special Ops warriors will
hurt him in the 2012 elections

Failing on the economic front, immigration, and conducting himself as a king
rather than the President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama is
facing the unlikelihood of re-election in 2012.

.jpg?w=344&h=233Look at me and what do you see?

It appears his handlers have decided for the moment, that the killing of
Osama bin Laden will be the focal point.

It is clear that the President intends to use the death of bin Laden to gain
voters. He wants to be known as 'the man who got bin Laden.'

Such shameless self-aggrandizement is not only wrong but highlights yet
again the infamous Obama arrogance. Having few trick plays in the playbook
why not? Will it work? Probably not, with the election 18 months away this
event will become a distant memory.

Obama's approach was wrong because the ones who actually 'got bin Laden' are
so we have been told the Navy Seals, CIA operatives, Defense Secretary
Gates, General Patraeus, and others who had been working in this case ever
since the 9/11 attacks.

The Administration of George W. Bush deserves much of the credit due to the
fact that the groundwork for catching bin Laden was laid during the Bush
years. Had it not been for that groundwork, then the mission to get bin
Laden would not have been successful.

Obama deserves credit only because he happened to be President when the
ground forces and intelligence personnel continued doing what they had
always done, this time getting lucky enough to find the man who had eluded
the entire free world for 10 years. Numerous reports from inside the White
House also indicate that Obama was very hesitant about giving the order to
kill bin Laden, and that it was actually CIA Director Leon Panetta who
forced the President's hand.

Yet, almost as soon as the deed was done, Obama embarked on his 'look at me
tour' to call attention to himself as the one who was singularly responsible
for this victory. This is entirely in keeping with Obama's tendency to seek
the spotlight, engage in credit-grabbing each time something good happens
that has nothing to do with him, and inadvertently advertising his
now-famous arrogance.

This is absolutely why this strategy will fail. His expected massive bump in
the polls did not occur. He only picked up a few points, less than five. At
this point in George Herbert Walker Bush's Presidency, polls gave Bush the
Elder a whopping 90% approval on the strength of his victory in the first
Gulf War. But in less than a year that 90% approval had eroded down to the
40s due to a weak economy. The economy will be Obama's waterloo. People vote
with their wallets. Voters even those who voted for Mr. Obama had little
clue his policy would make out economy completely tank and that he would be
view as a weak individual not just at home but the world over.

The economy now is much worse than it was in 1992. The most generous of the
polls give Obama a 52% approval rating, and this right after bin Laden's
death. That is not much to brag about when the economy of 2011 continues to
teeter on the edge of complete collapse due to the runaway government
spending and no coherent fiscal policy of this administration.

Obama will not be able to overcome such economic realities, no matter how
much he wants us to believe he was the man, responsible for 'getting bin
Laden.' This is what voters will remember on November 6, 2012.
