Muslim Brotherhood Leader Says Sharia Law Is Coming If Brotherhood Takes Power Posted By GlobalMB On May 26, 2011 @ 4:03 pm In Daily | No Comments <> Egyptian media has reported statements by Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leader Sobhi Saleh indicating that the Brotherhood would apply Sharia law if it came to power. According to a report <http://www.almasryalyoum.com/en/node/451495> [1] in Al-Masry Al-Youm: The Muslim Brotherhood would apply Islamic sharia if it came to power, said leading Brotherhood figure Sobhi Saleh, adding that sharia protects non-Muslim citizens. 'Terms like civil or secular state are misleading,' he said. 'Islamic sharia is the best system for Muslims and non-Muslims.' Saleh apologized for his earlier statements that the Muslim Brotherhood could not recognize liberals or communists as Muslims, and that he disapproved of Muslims marrying outside the group. 'The media incorrectly paraphrased my statements,' he said. Translated from the Arabic Edition" The Israeli Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC) reports <http://www.terrorism-info.org.il/malam_multimedia/English/eng_n/html/ipc_e1 71.htm> [2] that among other things, Sobhi Saleh is a member of the Palestine Return Centre based in the UK: Sobhi Saleh is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. He was a Muslim Brotherhood representative in the Egyptian Parliament from 2005 to 2010. During those years he was also a member of and spokesman for the PRC.83 He was born in 1953, and is a lawyer specializing in Egyptian law. From 2004 to the present day he has been a member of the Egyptian lawyer's union. According to his website, he is an associate member of the PRC in London.
