The RM specification has added support for application/xml as a resource representation format. We've done this because of pressure from consumers - the difficulty of consuming arbitrarily serialized RDF models as RDF/XML (application/rdf+xml). We were also considering extending this to query results.
The CM and QM specifications REQUIRE support for Atom XML representation of query results (application/atom+xml). However, guideline for this format [1] specifies application/rdf+xml as the media type of the containing atom:content element. Is this a typo - should it read "application/xml"? If not, then how would I describe query results that are application/xml?
