Tami,

Yep, I think we all have had and may still have the control fears around Chaos 
that might happen if we are not in full control. I described open space to one 
of my colleagues who leads large conferences as a “trust fall”.  However over 
the past 5-8 years he continues to hold space for big groups and it all goes 
forward well.  He has learned how to setup the simple rules of Open Space and 
stand back and let the magic happen.  He was able to take those steps by 
experience the process and then build confidence working with larger and larger 
groups.

For you to learn I’d like to invite you to experience open space for yourself.  
In my mind it sort of does not matter what the topic is just that you find an 
open space that is simply run as designed.  If you have time this weekend, 
taking some time to join d&d open space out of the UK would give you some of 
the experiential learning you will need to take the “trust fall”.
