Dear Viv,
great idea. Just transferred 20 Euros via PayPal.

Hope that someone from Chile in addition to the two colleagues already registered from there can make it to Berlin. Especially since there have been some voices suggesting Chile or some other place in the Americas might be the place to go for the next WOSonOS.

As of today, 133 folks from 27 countries have signed up for the May WOSonOS XVIII in Berlin. Ten years ago, 133 from 16 countries came to OSonOS VIII in Berlin...so its a more "international" gathering. For the last 10 days there has been a regular rush of registrations and new countries (South Africa and Israel) signing in.
No worry, there is enough space in the huge church in the center of Berlin.

A number of people have taken out zero interest loans from the Revolving Credit Fund that is fed by the surpluses of the World Map. More loan money is available! Anyone needing such assistance just contact me.

Others are finding shelter in Berlin with one of the 30+ colleagues that are attending from Berlin. More on that and other details at
http://www.boscop.org/events/508-wosonos-2010
there you also find a link to the "WOSonOS Housing Market" in Berlin
(Do you offer a bed for colleagues? Are you looking for an option to stay with a colleague from Berlin?).

All the best with your "fringe" OSonOS and the future of OSI Australia...I did love to get the Newsletter Brian used to send out, gave me a real feeling of whats going on in your country.

Greetings from Berlin

Hello all

The other day I had lunch with Brendan McKeague and Andrew Rixon to
discuss the future of the Open Space Institute in Australia. I'm sure
many of you are aware that Brian Bainbridge WAS the Open Space
Institute in Oz and we'd like to honour his contribution by
continuing the OSI.

Also at lunch was Brian's friend and executor of his will, John
Grace. I asked John if he thought Brian's parish had any idea what he
did when he wasn't there. Not surprisingly, he answered 'no'. He also
told us the story of how the locals who were short of cash and wanted
a hand-out from the church would wait till the office staff had gone
home and would knock on Brian's door - even very late at night.
No-one ever went away empty handed. So I think Brian would be chuffed
to know that there's a scholarship in his name to enable someone to
attend this year's World Open Space on Open Space in Berlin, someone
who wouldn't be able to otherwise.

This scholarship is being coordinated this year by the US Open Space
Institute as their way of honouring Brian, and Lisa Heft (aka The
Access Queen) has kindly taken on this task of coordinating the
funds. There is a candidate from Chile to receive the extra support
who would not otherwise be able to attend. I think Brian would be
happy with this as he always wanted to spread the understanding and
use of open space far and wide.

Some of you may wish to individually contribute to the Fr. Brian
Bainbridge Memorial Fund for the 2010 WOSONOS. Please make your own
individual contributions as appropriate. The details of how to do so
are explained below.

At our Fringe WOSonOS in Melbourne on May 11 we will talk about an
Australasian Scholarship for future WOSonOS events. And most exciting
for me (personally) at this Fringe WOSonOS will be that we'll have
access to Brian's beloved shalalee for our talking stick. Yay! Stay
tuned for photos.

If you have any questions please contact me offline

Thank you for your thoughtful contributions to the Brian Bainbridge
memorial scholarship.

This is a collection of funds with the intention of helping someone
attend this year's World Open Space on Open Space in Berlin, Germany
- May 12-15, 2010.

These funds will be handled through the Access Queen project (Lisa
Heft) who has worked with each year's WOSonOS "Askers" - people of
lesser financial abilities who wish to join their colleagues at a
WOSonOS - and each year's Host Team since the Access Queen project's
inception in 2001.

For any funds given to the project specifically in memory of Brian
this year, Lisa is working with Open Space Institute Australia's Viv
McWaters to inform who may be (a) likely recipient(s).

Please note that the WOSonOS is fast approaching so if you are
thinking of contributing you may wish to do so very soon.

The options for contribution include US check (zero handling fee
taken out of your contribution) -or- PayPal (about 4% taken out of
