A contribution to the call for poems:

Muscles contract completing what was initiated elsewhere

Orchestral precision guides the transition from one place to the next

Velocity proportional to our longing for what was or might be

Ease embedded within the remembering of how this happens

Momentum gathers in the recognition of possibility

Encountering new spaces with unknown terrain

Nascent actions take form as electricity travels

Tumbling into what was scarcely imagined

Thank you for reawakening me from my poetic slumber.

Seems that with the move and everything we are in need of some poetry to spice the place up a little. And when I think of Open Space I think of movement. It's the fastest way I know to put people to work.

So here are the terms of the 2011 biannual, or thereabouts, OSLIST Poetry Contest:

Write a poem about movement, about the shift from one space to another. Incorporate in your poem a reference to things left behind, and a reference to new things discovered.

Those are the terms. Submit your poems to the list within this thread over the next two weeks. The contest will close on April 22 at midnight UTC (Greenwich Meant Time).

Ready? Go!

A quick search of the OSList archives seems to say that our last Poet Laureate was Chris Corrigan in June. Since this is a biannual contest - I wonder if we're overdue? What say you, Chris?
