Hi all--

Even though I am a little behind on my email, there is something to add to this conversation:

If you have a passion for Open Space, and for holding space for anywhere in the world, or if you have a desire to see it spread, or done better, then I encourage you to consider joining your board.

We meet about monthly via telephone conference call, and we get things done, and we develop a depth of understanding of Open Space in our calls. And just maybe we make a difference in your world.

Ask any of us and we will give you the number and the time to call and a big welcome. Membership on the board is an Open Space thing: whoever comes....

And we have had people from all over the world on your board, including, currently, a Canadian and a Brit.

Join us!

                :- Doug.

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for posting news and the request from the Open Space Institute - U.S.

On a personal note, being a board member myself, one of the benefits of
being a member and supporting the institute is getting to hang out with
other amazing Open Space Technology facilitators - openspaceniks -
catalysts - room whisperer's - supreme silent leaders (:-)

It's great to visit and connect with people face to face at actual OST
events. And it's also great to hang out on the OSList - which costs only
$10 a year to maintain because the OSI-US is 501(c)(3) and we get free
web hosting. But meeting monthly with people on a phone call creates
longer term relationships with those who have a passion for the
philosophy of Open Space, not just the methodology.

If anything, the relevance of the methodology is growing in these
turbulent times. Even more turbulent and changing than when Harrison
first found OST at the bottom of a couple martini's. And even more
relevant is the philosophy. We can practice Open Space on a small call
without any breakouts. We can practice Open Space in the emails we
write. Dare I say we can practice Open Space alone on a mountain top or
with thousands in a public square.

What's so amazing about the philosophy is how it opens me up to the
brilliance of others around me, and how it nurtures connections and
relationships that make my own gifts more available to others. We need
each other so much right now. Why not pitch in, join in the
conversation, and help pave the way for others to gain the benefits of
this amazing "Practice of Peace"?

Blessings!
Harold

*To our Open Space Colleagues and Friends:*
**

An eventful year for Open Space and a time of rich dialogues and
meaningful projects for the OSI Institute US, accomplished with and on
behalf of our global community. *Again this year, we invite you to
join us and to become members of the OSI Institute US. *

Many reasons for doing so:

  * To provide support and funding for various projects of benefit to
specific groups and/or our entire community.
  * To indicate to clients, community groups and others that we are
members of the OSI Institute US
  * To acknowledge the volunteerism combined with the judicious
funding in support of the infrastructure that invites deep sharing
and learning together as colleagues on the OS list and through
    other means.

*Please consider making a financial contribution!*Donations from
individuals in the past have varied between $25 to $1500, a range that
reflects people’s financial circumstances and desire to
contribute.**http://osius.org/content/support-osi-us.

*We also welcome anyone who would be interested in serving on the
Board to contact us. *No requirement that it be someone from the US.
