Thanks to all for this wonderful conversation.

An especially big thanks to you, Harold, for wrangling the technical
difficulties and for reminding me/us that this video is still online. Hard to
believe that when we made it in 2005, 15 minutes was the standard for length.
These days, it’s rare for people to give more than a couple of minutes to watch
something.

Lisa, the 2005 Girl Scout Convention brought together over 14,000 girls and
adults from across the US for their corporate business meeting and to convene
“Open Strategic Conversations” with the membership. The Open Space for over
1700 elected delegates focused on organizational structure and governance. The
Strategy Cafes offered over 3000 girls and adults the opportunity to weigh in
on the new Core Business Strategy. It was a wild and wonderful ride all the
way around.

You can read more about the story here -

 and here
http://escoladeredes.net/group/tecnologias-de-dialogo/forum/topics/open-space-meetings-by-kate-burton.

Then, as you mentioned, Lisa, at the 2008 GS convention, our team offered an
opening night Appreciative Inquiry conversation for over 10,000 (which I
facilitated and Gabriel Shirley took onto the big screens via an early use of
text polling), an OST meeting for around 700 (which you elegantly facilitated),
a Leadership Cafe (facilitated by Samantha Tan), StoryWeaving videos shot by
the girls, Story Weavings on those looms…it was full of life!

Perhaps more important than the meetings themselves, was the capacity that was
built for Girl Scouts across the country. We trained hundreds of girls and
adults in what I like to call Methods for Strategic Collaboration. We know
that many of them went on to facilitate Open Space meetings, Appreciative
Interviews and World Cafe Conversations in their own Girl Scout Councils and
other groups in their local communities.

Thanks for the question, Raffi!

Warm wishes to all from sunny Phoenix,

Christine

Thank you, Harold, for sharing this inspiring video. This is a treasure link
that we will use in the future.

We celebrate the courage and huge risk of those who created the amazing Girl
Scout convention in 2005.

How timely that I just watched our president address the challenges of climate
change.

We continue to experience the dynamics of Open Space and World Cafe as key
models to guide our bio-region in these essential conversations toward our
flourishing, prosperous future.

We find that the leadership is coming from students and other young leaders.

Thank you for modeling the power of all of us together. We are ready!

Hi Raffi, Lisa,

The 1400+ Open Space event Christine Whitney Sanchez facilitated for the Girl
Scouts was documented in a video on the Open Space Institute's website.
