hello everyone, since birgitt's education query went so well, i thought i'd try another in an effort to support a friend. he's working on raising and integrating support for a community development/economic development/environmental cleanup initiative in a river valley area near milwaukee wisconsin. actually, this is the friend who brought together the youth action group i posted earlier. anyway, he's talking with all the right people, but is looking for more stories of how/where open space has worked in diverse communities, sustainability projects, and/or economic/employment development efforts -- stories that good hearted, if not fully enlightened, mayors, power companies, and real estate developers might understand and invest in. what do we know? i'll do my best to pull these together in as nice a package as birgitt did with the school stories, being sure to paste the whole thing into the BODY of an email when finished ;-)
many thanks, michael ps. sheila isakson is also on this case...and meeting with brian this afternoon. -- Have you seen the Global Chicago Calendar and other resources available at the MHA website? http://www.mcs.net/~mherman/ Michael Herman Michael Herman Associates 300 West North Avenue #1105 Chicago IL 60610 312-280-7838 voice 312-280-7837 fax [email protected]
