Greetings all! I receive the OSLIST as a digest, so that the messages are brought together into one email, and are indexed as shown above. It's wonderfully convenient and I recommend it to all. Except that of the 800 lines of text I received this morning, about 1/4 of them were actual new messages. The rest was repetition of previous messages! I scrolled through 600 extra lines of text to find the gems inside. In some cases it's because when one of us makes a "reply", we include the entire text of the message to which we are replying. This makes sense in other situations, but here, EVERYONE on the list gets EVERY message, so please, we only need to REFER to the topic or person to whom we make a reply. In other cases, a message comes through as TWO messages, the first of which is plain text, and the next of which is in html text. Would someone help me understand why this takes place? I love this listserv very much and am grateful for all the good people bringing questions and suggestions. I will miss you in Chicago, but I'm headed for Israel to walk across one of the original Open Spaces (with gratitude to the seminarian Harrison).
