Greetings from another enthusiastic "lurker"... Just for clarification, the eGroups (or OneList) service *does* allow you to subscribe to the egroups OSList where all conversations can be sent to your email box. There is no need to access the Web to communicate.
The benefit is that there is a comprehensive web-based archive if you choose not to keep each-and-every message in your email inbox. A few networks that I belong to use egroups, with very efficient & effective results.
