If you must apologize for French, I will begin apologizing for every time I
post in English!

One of the (many) things I love about this OS list is that I
really feel the global nature of the OS community.

Since our OS poetry is encouraged in any language, and since

and imagery from all cultures forms the richness of our
interchanges.

Ok, let's follow the music...

What follows is the correct version of a poem from a
portuguese-mozambiquean poet, Reinaldo Ferreira,
that wrote in Maputo in the years 40-50, that I offered
to Joelle's session on poetry at Berlim. He had alread died
when I arrived there, but was still "present" among both
cultures [Joelle, if you send me my English "translation
from memory) I will correct it...

No principio so' a vida existia;
O mundo era o que havia
Ao alcance da vida...
E mais nada.

Tudo era certo, simples, claro.

Quando o passado passar
(E passara' porque o passado e' hoje),
E o futuro vier
(E ha'-de vir, porque o futuro e' hoje),
Então, sim, ha'-de saber-se tudo
E tudo sera' certo, simples, claro.

Eu, porem, não sei nada.
