Dear OSers, I have just been talking with a client about using open space technology for market research.
Their organization is a dot.com which is creating B2B market systems. Their challenge is that they are looking at multiple products, multi nation and and a range of cutomers and they find it very difficult to focus. The person who suggested doing open space had participated in a demonstration program which I had run earlier in the year. I have explained the importance of getting the question right and how they will then have to trust the participants to talk about what need to talk about. Also, I have indicated that the final document should belong to all the participants. I think the process could get some truly creative results in a relatively short amount of time ( otherwise they would do individual interviews) and would build relationships going forward. Have any of you used OST in this way? What was your experience? What suggestions would you have? Thanks, Markl Mark J.
