For an interesting read on "businesses needing to adopt a model of leaderless organization to prosper in the new economy" check out Knowledge Management magazines (Strategy and Technology for the New Economy), December 2000 issue, www.kmmag.com (in the Need To Know section) where Tom Koulopoulos of the Boston-based Delphi Group and author of the upcoming book The X-Economy makes an excellent OS argument (without calling it OS of course) for creating and sustaining business success when he links "their (protestors) organizing principles was to have not a leader, but a series of decentralized decision-making units that acted from a common set of rules we might call a knowledge base" to the need for creating "mass collaboration" in order to effectively address change in the workplace.
