Tova-- Welcome to the OSList. I especially liked what you said about facing the longing, lost parts of yourself in Open Space, because that has been my experience, as well.
Even from a brief visit to Israel some years ago, I can see that the challenges you face are formidable. Old conflicts stretch so far back into the past that all parties have had lots of practice holding their position, secure from influence by others.
