Mary: Gareth Morgan also writes about termite mounds in his book Imaginization, a "postmodern" guide to organizational change. After explaining the qualities of termite mounds, he works with a client group to investigate how the organization exhibits similar qualities. What was the first mound to be created? When did others get started? What are the connecting links between them? What's the tallest one now? Have some been abandoned in favor of others? and so on. The intention is a fresh perspective of the organization which leads to fresh understanding and action.
