Dear Colleagues, this is the 5th and last day of the os-facilitator training in Weimar, Germany with 46 participants from 13 European countries. I am sitting on top of a huge pile of insights and learnings but want to share with you just the bits and pieces that were announced during morning news...which I think show a little of the spirit that emerged in this very diverse group: -birth of my grandchild complete with name and weight and a huge round of clapping and congratulation -a handmade greeting card for the support staff (kitchen, cleaning, technicians) being passed around for people to sign -a Father Day song (also called "men's day" in these parts) presented in Swedish...the singer walking the circle once while presenting the song -Report on a participant who had to enter the hospital and is now recuperating with the indication of returning to the training during the day -Profuse thank you and appreciation for a group that had organized a campfire the night before (including the chopping of the required wood) -announcement that a 200 photo CD about the training is in production and will go to all the participants -the comment from the facilitator-in-training as a mobile rings "there are even announcements from outer space arriving" -reminder of a participant to notify the technical staff when a computer breaks down in the computer cabinet and not to just walk off -announcing a chatroom that will be available to the group on www.openspace.pl beginning 7pm on June 6 -announcing the creation of an international open space-museum as part of the polish website
We closed the training with a medicine wheel exercise to reflect on the temporary learning organisation, handing out certificates of attendence by participants themselves and the final circle for everyone to have a last look at all the others present, Indian rain included and then turning around, feeling the group at your back and walking off into all directions. So there is a new wave of os-facilitators (several with considerable experience but most of them complete newcomers) going out to Malta, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Austria, Sweden, Estonia (three people, including Mikk Sarv and Mariu Sarv who had ho in Estonia last year and are translating the Practice of Peace into Estonian), Belgium, Lithuania, Slovenia, Latvia, Hungary and of course Germany swarming out--- It was great fun with a grand team (Hans-Georg Wicke, Serpil Karahan, Mia Konstantinidou and Michael Pannwitz jr.)
