Doris and all, If it's not too late, try these...
1. Use a portion of the floor for a wall. Mark it off with tape (last resort, but I bet it works). 2. Run a LONG piece of banner paper between two sturdy easels. (You should find such rolls in widths of four feet or five feet, in lengths up to 25 yards, at art supply stores.) Perhaps back up the mid-point with a third easel. Ask people to be gentle when they post their sheets so the whole thing doesn't get pushed over. Lap food is fine. I've done it a million times at OS meetings. Tell the hotel guy who insists on tables to get lost, even if he is only trying to help. Yes, this list is very helpful... Like the time I asked for suggestions about how to create a "wall" when my client insisted on doing the OS outdoors, on a beach. The only suggestions I got were from people who wanted to fly down to the resort in question (at my expense) and stand there lined up as a human wall so people could post their items right onto their bodies while they sun-tanned themselves. Very generous, don't you think? Bunch of clowns. Be careful what you ask for around here; you might get more. Have fun. Annie and all, I once ran an OS meeting for about 100 MD's, all of them immunology specialists. I didn't understand a word they said! But opening space was no issue. They had a ball (I think). John Engle: You are my hero. Keep it up, whatever it is you do. Live long, my friend.
