Hello, dear colleagues - I have been having some technological challenges since mid-June and have not been able to enter into our OSLIST conversation since then. It's like looking through the windows and seeing an Open Space happen inside a marvelous room and not being able to open the doors to come on in - quite a tease.
Thanks to dear Artur for helping me post a message now and then. Now that I've returned from facilitating and training trainers for that workshop in Zambia, Africa, the story of technical difficulties has continued a bit - a Microsoft 'bug'* - not a virus but something that acted like one (can you believe it?? Yes you can - it's Microsoft) disabled my computer and resultingly I lost all my contacts/address database and all present and saved emails. As I said to John Engle, I am like a newborn baby - all clean and fresh without a past and ready to experience life anew - and gee, I guess I don't have to respond to those 'red-flagged' (priority) emails I was expecting to come back to - as they don't exist any more. Having your computer wiped clean is a great way to eliminate stress - I recommend it highly. Very Zen. That is, if you are like me and let things go easily that cannot be helped. Breathing helps. So: If you were recently (in the past 2 months) corresponding with me and did not get a reply (somebody asked about Zambia, for instance? Alexander Schilling, you'd emailed me about Access Queen assistance?) or if we have shared address/contact information in past for our mutual ongoing correspondence, please resend me that message and/or your contact information so I can find you once again. I appreciate it. Warmly, Lisa Heft *For you English as a second language speakers, a 'bug' in computer jargon is a little hidden problem in the system (sometimes in the system's actual original design) that makes everything act all weirdly. ________________________________ L i s a H e f t Consultant, Facilitator, Educator O p e n i n g S p a c e 2325 Oregon Berkeley, California 94705-1106 USA +01 510 548-8449 [email protected] * * ========================================================== [email protected] ------------------------------ To subscribe, unsubscribe, change your options, view the archives of [email protected], Visit: http://listserv.boisestate.edu/archives/oslist.html
