Re: [OSLIST] OS in East Jerusalem (long)Chris,

Thanks for the reminder to everyone about Practice of Peace, Nov. 9-12 at the
Whidbey Institute, an hour north of Seattle Washington.

As you noticed, Carol is one of the amazing folks who will be there. As are a
number of folks from this list -- Chris Corrigan, Harrison, Joelle and Paul
Everett, Tova Averbuch, Avner Haramati, Gail West, and others whose names
aren't leaping to mind at the moment.

We have people from 6 continents coming. There are about 80 of us so far and I
suspect it will be closer to 150-200 by the time it happens.

So...if you have it penciled in and haven't yet registered....

Lodging is going very fast! We have 32 more rooms held until October 21st.
After that date, anyone wishing to make reservations for lodging near the
Institute will be taking their chances.

Consider this is a heads-up for those who have been very busy and intend to
come. And if you hadn't yet considered it, please do. We expect a powerful
experience for all. Details are at www.practiceofpeace.com.

from rainy Seattle,
Peggy

  Dear Carol,

What a powerful story you have told. Thank you for posting this - a
beautiful example of how OS can be of service to a community group that has
recently formed and does not yet have the structure of a formal organization -
a great moment of opportunity I think. The context of your particular group is
also an inspiration to those working in places suffering great political
strife. I wish you many blessings as you continue to hold space in East
Jerusalem - this being I think a key, that someone serve as a committed
space-holder for the group over time.

I was going to send you the link for the Practice of Peace meeting, November
9-12 on Whidbey Island near Seattle, and when I went to the website I saw that
you are one of the hosting colleagues! This event that Harrison, Peggy, and
others are preparing gathers such world significance as it approaches, like
early dawn showing on the far horizon.
