Hi Ms. Ilse -- I have had several OSs where the members of the corporation or the students were required to be there. Of course I would have not preferred it to be that way but in these instances that was just the way it was. Everything always went well. Many of the participants either get involved and end up having a really good time or end up finding / creating their own alternative activities and have a good time.
...Even in one of my hardest OSs ever (I'll write about that soon for the list) when 850 students were required to stay, were not allowed to leave the building, even to leave when it was 'over'... Requiring them to stay even became a topic or two posted on the agenda wall and was the source for lively conversation.
