Faye-- Thanks for this! Bill McDonough was, for me, the highlight of
the Institute of Noetic Sciences' and Alliance for Global New Thought's
"Awakening Global Vision" Conference in Palm Springs last month. He is
such a visionary and walks his talk, too!

William McDonough is an internationally renowned designer and one of
the
primary proponents and shapers of what he and his partners call 'The
Next
Industrial Revolution.' In 1999 Time magazine recognized him as a
'Hero for
the Planet' (2/22/99), stating that "his utopianism is grounded in a
unified philosophy that?in demonstrable and practical ways?is changing
the
design of the world." His ideas and efforts were also honored when, in
1996, he became the only individual to receive the Presidential Award
for
Sustainable Development, the nation's highest environmental honor,
presented by President Clinton in a White House ceremony.

Gerard,
I asked one of my sisters who is working with environmental issues,
with
socalled LCA or Life Cycle Analysis. Perhaps you can find something if
you
search on "LCA" on the UNsite for environmental products www.unep.org
, or
try the link
http://www.unepie.org/pc/pc/tools/lca.htm
Your question makes me curious.

Subject: To waste or not to waste, that's the question

Dear All,

Do any of you have experience with the following:

Many organisation consider the "waste products" as an unavoidable evil
one has to get rid of with as little effort and as low a cost as
possible,

rather than as an integral part of the production process, and an area
which is also eligible for innovation or which could even become a
profit centre.

Have you worked with this theme ? Do you know anyone/any organisations
that have ?

Thanks for your help,

Gerard Muller
