hi there dearest HO....

didn't pick up the note at the end of your email about the sight
thingy.....

sending huge love and cool healing thoughts to remove the b....
pokers...

just pondering whether we are more in-sightful, when we close our
out-sightful eyes for a while....
can't imagine how your personal insights could be greater..... you are
SO amazing in how you continually see
what's important and what's needed.... and how your generosity of
spirit never fails.....

thanks for being such a great example of what it is to be a wonderful
human

with love

Romy

Hello Harrison
I hope all is going well post surgery and that the red hot poker is
receeding.
Whatever shall we do when you come at the world with both eyes fully
blazing?

Subject: Rank and Privilege

Therese - I guess I was too short again. I saw your first paragraph,
and my
eyes didn't make it to the second - all about rank and privilege. I
suppose
there is a certain privilege that comes with experience, but hopefully
it is
earned. I would also hope that a day never comes when it (experience,
rank,
and privilege) stand unchallenged. Speaking as the elder, who I
suppose I
am, I feel under a great obligation to share what I have experienced.
And
when I feel strongly about something, I feel an equal obligation to
express
myself as clearly and directly as I am able. Speaking as a participant
of
this remarkable LIST, I feel in some way cheated when no conversation
ensues. What I have experienced, what we have all experienced, is only
a
starting point. What we are experiencing now, and what we anticipate
experiencing is the growing edge, and that is where the fun happens.
In a
very real way, rank and privilege stop in the present moment where we
are
all neophytes and co-learners. I might also say that one of the
distinct
disadvantages of OSLIST is that you can't see how folks are doing in
the
moment. For myself, I can report that on Monday, some nice doctors at
John's
Hopkins Medical Center gave me a new cornea for my right eye. The good
news
is that I will probably be able to have the use of that eye when things
heal. The bad news is that right at the moment it feels like somebody
stuck
a hot poker in my eye which makes seeing quite difficult and tends to
put an
edge on things emotionally. So forgive me if I sounded short. It was
not
intentional.
