Hi all

I shall be in Mali in August, for a ten-day intensive training on NVC (nonviolent communication) with Marshall Rosenberg. Apart from taking time to play with camels (one of my real loves!).... and visiting the Dogon peoples if appropriate.... I'm wondering whether anyone has been opening space in Mali? guess I can look at mmp's map for a start?

Hello Mayke,

I am back from South Africa, where we had a training course on Essential Consulting Skills, including a half day Open Space introduction (with three times slots of 45 minutes each). It worked extremely well and participants who came from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Kenya liked the approach very much. No specific recommendations at all. I am sure you will have success and I am looking forward to reading your story in some weeks from now.

Good luck and trust the force!

Holger

Hello from springtime Germany,

I have my first Open Space Conference coming up in April and Lisa encouraged me to make use of the expertise and experience of all of you! The Open Space will take place in Nairobi, Kenya and we will have participants from Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Sounth Africa. The topic will be "Towards Sustainability of Healthcare Technology Systems" with participants being stakeholders, decision makers, and maintenance staff from all levels (national, regional, district, facility) of the healthcare technology system. My question is whether - from your experience - there are certain cultural aspects I need to consider. Do you have any experience with / recommendations for this group of participants?

Looking forward to your ideas and stories,

Mayke
