Importance: High
How do we want to change and improve the World of Adult Basic Skills?
Are we as bad as they say we are or as good as we think we are?
And how do we get better?
Monday 24 May 2004, Britannia Street Conference Centre,
London WC1X 9JP
The NIACE / NATFHE annual conference has become a lively arena for
basic skills practitioners to exchange views on adult learning and
teaching. This has in previous years proved to be a great success!
This year we will be introducing an exciting and innovative format.
The day will be very different as we are adopting an ‘Open Space’
approach. The ‘Open Space’ approach enables maximum participation,
self-management, energy and focus. It is used around the world by
corporate, public and voluntary organisations for both organisation
development and consultation purposes. At the conference, the
facilitator will describe the principles of Open Space and the “Law of
2 feet”.
There will be no speakers during the morning; there will be a ‘market
place’ format instead. All delegates will have the opportunity to
join workshops and discuss issues that are important to them.
