Friends--

I'm honored. . . and at a loss for words.  You touch my heart.

My deep thanks to Jeff, for stepping up to facilitate the Celebration and
Contest, for offering us an evocative topic--and I may borrow from his clear
and
gracious words when I need to explain the next contest six months from now.

Thanks and sticky dots galore to all the poets.  I loved the beauty and
diversity of the poems which were posted.  And when I read them all together,
before voting, I was struck by the intricate interconnections between poems, by
the
complex and shimmering web of meaning that was created by seeing the poems
together.  This Celebration and Contest really seemed to me like a single,
collaborative poem.

My special thanks to all the readers--a poet's voice has no meaning without a
receptive ear, and I thank you for completing that circle for all of us who
wrote.

I need a few days to think it over--but watch this List for the opening of a
space for a virtual "open microphone" session, where writers AND readers can
share favorite words.

With gratitude and love,

Joelle
