Doug-- I think your idea of silence before the election resonates with many people. I forwarded it to my son, who replied that he had been turning off the radio and TV, and would be filling out his absentee ballot this weekend. A friend with whom I shared the thought suggested that maybe it is time we go to a two-week campaign, as they have in England.
As for me, I will be very glad when the pre-election noise is over.
