Ok, I'm sure this has been dealt with before on this list, and I think I know what an answer would look like ... but I'm not sure and I would welcome some comments.
Experts http://www.who.int say we might have a flu pandemic with "zillions sick, millions dead, all socioeconomies disrupted". They say it's not a matter of "if" but "when and how hard". They also write that "planning, to be effective, has to be done at the local level". It's also true that, like with many other things, the importance of the threat may go unrecognised for a long time, and only become aparent "when it's too late". So we have a few issues here: - fear as a motivator for an open space gathering - most actions will have to be local, so they need open space - if we can't get things going before the crisis, people would have to resort to open space when we're in the middle of the crisis, so fear will be at its highest I guess the theme would be an easy one: "What are the best things WE can do facing this situation?" It would be the same question every day for about two or three years (which is what apparently takes for a pandemic to do its terrifying job). Again it's this feeling of urgency ... A "why and when" summary has been shared on this list recently. I've translated it into Spanish and will share back. We could share the translation a member of this list kindly sent me - that of the Brief User Guide. I'd be ready to compile a small PDF/doc/txt/whatever file with the essential, to be used as a "break the glass if there's a fire" kit. Something to be broadcast to millions in the event of a pandemic. It would have to be short and powerful, and possibly with some photos or sketches. People will/would be appropriately scared when they read it (not because they're reading it, but because of the situation). I'd apreciate your comments. Thanks!
