greetings. i recently interviewed a longtime haitian colleague who has been doing a lot of open space in haiti. his name is pierre richard and he participated in one of Diane Gibeault's trainings several years ago.
the theme of the upcoming newsletter of the organization i'm affiliated with, beyond borders, is "honor and respect," which is concept of profound significance in haitian culture. thus, my conversation with pierre richard focused on the connection between open space and "honor, respect" in haitian culture. the interview will not be in the newsletter. an article about a community open space meeting that included a number of police will be there instead. given haiti's situation of insecurity and the gulf that exists between citizens and police, we felt this rare exchange merited coverage. nevertheless, my interview with pierre richard is on my website. and, he is articulate and profound as usual. he's doing open space with large groups of haitians--in the hundreds--and often using the version of OS adaptated for nonreaders. if you have the time and interest, here's the link: http://www.beyondborders.net/je-assoc/InterviewPierreRichard.htm one, respe, (with honor and respect for you) john http://JohnEngle.blogspot.com - Reflections about Haiti, life, and our work. http://JohnEngle.info http://TheExperiment.info _________________________________________________________________ MSN Hotmail : antivirus et antispam intégrés http://www.msn.fr/newhotmail/Default.asp?Ath=f * * ========================================================== [email protected] ------------------------------ To subscribe, unsubscribe, change your options, view the archives of [email protected]: http://listserv.boisestate.edu/archives/oslist.html To learn about OpenSpaceEmailLists and OSLIST FAQs: http://www.openspaceworld.org/oslist
