Eric: Glad to hear you had such a great trip. Could you tell me again the quote about the brain? I've been trying to remember it.
Carolynn and I have returned home after our 5,000 km road trip to the East Coast.I am catching up on the emails. A deep bow and big thank you to all that attended OSONOS in Halifax. A deep bow and a big thank you to those who organised and supported the event. The three days have given me much to chew on. It was a rich experience. I feel expanded. Delighted also to meet members of the Rumi nation. Halifax was hills, harbour, brew pubs, tall ships, buskers, great Thai food, good company. Cape Breton is beautiful...took the Cabot Trail to Bay St Lawrence where we saw fin whales so close you could see the underbelly and an eye, minkes, and dolphins. I know what "Thar she blows" means. I still occasionally make loud whooshing noises. Travel Tip: Myron the baker at the La Grande Boulangerie de L'Est on the north side of Chediac is a rare jewel.....incroyable....part of the Buddhist invasion. The Folk artist whose shop is beside the bakery is a genius. Also saw Bald Eagles, Puffins, Guillemots, and "too many seals" out at the Bird Islands. We kayaked parts of the Margaree River and the Bras D'Or. We barely scratched the surface of that amazing place, but we do know where Meat Cove is. Eric P.S. The following appeared in my email today. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- An affluent industrialist said to the Master, "What do you do for a profession?" "Nothing," said the Master. The industrialist laughed scornfully. "Isn't that laziness?" "Heavens no. Laziness is mostly the vice of the very active people." Later the Master said to his disciples, "Do nothing and all things will be done through you. Doing nothing really takes a lot of doing. Try it!" A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honourably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.
