How lovely to 'see' some of your suggestions come alive in my mind. Thanks to all. I love the 'Rainstorm': just imagining it rise and fall has given me a fleeting glimpse of stillness in a circle of people. Thanks for that.
Georganne, I have not read the exact number of how many people are attending the OSonOS in San Antonio but I venture to guess it is not very big. 20 to 30 should work just fine with a Rainstorm. Now I'm sitting here wondering if it would work with ten people. I know the OSonOS has now been closed. Doug, I hope you give us a report! I'm having fun trying to think of all the little things I've done and/or seen others do that I love. One time, I participated in a three week, residential training that was pretty intense. We met from just after breakfast through lectures in the evening after dinner. And it was really hot and really muggy and no air conditioning in the classrooms. We had blocks of free time, each day. But every day, right after lunch, was a 'mandatory' play session. The teacher was deeply skilled in play. That experience taught me a lot and I have used games a lot. Almost any time I have found myself in the wonderful position of being allowed to design a meeting, I toss in a game. My games teacher taught me that a three minute game is a valuable way to build collective knowing. Lots of kairos openings playing 'this is a click, this is a clack', methinks.
