I do believe the "mystery of Open Space" depends on the worldview of the person experiencing it. So, there are lots of mysteries. Some see it as pure magic that what happens could even happen. Some, who are becoming well versed in Complex Adaptive Systems Theory, see no "magic" at all. Just the working out of complex systems which self-organize. It is all explainable with the theory -- which a lot of it is. So for some of them I've talked with, its no big deal and in fact is just what complex systems do and they would rather think they can now shape or prod them systems with other approaches over which they have more "control". For some social network theory gives some evidence and explanation of what happens. For some, the ability to allow the emergence of spirit and new collective consciousness blows them away. Not everyone is ready to see/feel that enough to reflect on what was just learned. What is a "mystery" is based on how you interpret your experience.
I love the many mysteries.
