Hi, Bea -
I wanted to send this to you separately to explain this in private - just between you and I. First: Laurel Doersam Nathorst's (she got married to the fabulous Rick Nathorst) email: [email protected] Laurel was the co-host (with Chris Corrigan) of the annual international Open Space on Open Space in 2001, in Vancouver. (She is also the first one who created 'Found Poems' on the OSLIST when *she* was Poet Laureate) The week after all us OSniks came to that fabulous OSonOS, Laurel was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Very serious indeed. But being an Open Space person through and through, she has this lovely combination of spirit (or Spirit) and letting go to the unknown (whatever happens is the only thing that could have), calling support and strength from family and friends, and dancing the dance of what each day brings. And so, she is still alive and vibrant today! (we are good friends, having taking our Open Space training together in Harrison's class in 2000). But: right now she is having some troubles with the cancer and the treatment, so at this moment she is not feeling very well. So the reason I am saying all this is: she will either welcome the engagement and stimulation (it is nice to engage in things that require a brain when everything else is happening to your body). .OR: you will not hear from her at all, if she does not have the energy to respond. So do email her to ask her about her thesis, and do not think it is an imposition, because do know that she is very good at only doing what she feels able to do and not feeling obligated. But if you do not hear from her then if she can she will probably email you when she is better, but that may be in several months. I thought you would like to know the whole story so you would not feel awkward if you did not get a response. Warm wishes for the success of your research, and cheers from sunny Berkeley, California, Lisa (PS I read her thesis in 2001 but I don't think I can answer any questions, so sorry.) ___________________________ L i s a H e f t Consultant, Facilitator, Educator O p e n i n g S p a c e <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] <http://www.openingspace.net> www.openingspace.net * * ========================================================== [email protected] ------------------------------ To subscribe, unsubscribe, change your options, view the archives of [email protected]: http://listserv.boisestate.edu/archives/oslist.html To learn about OpenSpaceEmailLists and OSLIST FAQs: http://www.openspaceworld.org/oslist
