Susan-- Years ago, I attended an ODN conference where one of the sessions was in Open Space. As Julie suggested, the session was listed as a topic in the program, and I remember what a pleasure it was to be able to discuss the specific are I was most interested in, and have much more conversation with other participants than was possible in other sessions.
So I think it is well worth doing--but the subject needs to be compelling. It is really the same as in an organization--it needs to be around a real business issue, not just OS for the sake of opening space. I wish you well with this!
