Dear Lisa,
I tried a little survey among the osnicks in these parts regarding the preferred time for the WOSonOS in SF. Seems there is no real broad preference, some like the spring, some the fall, not so many the summer because that is the holiday season for families with children of school age others like the summer, oh, gnats!
So, no real preferences.
There was, however, a broad agreement that the summer is the most expensive time regarding travel and accomodations limiting the chances for some or even lots of people. Now, if all of those wonderfully relaxed people in the world map owing their inclusion fee or their annual maintenance fee would pay up and if some more of you on this list would accept my invitation to include yourself in the world map (and pay, of course) there might be enough money to ameliorate those high prices in the high season. When I will make a pitch for the 2010 WOSonOS in Berlin, it will not be for the summer (its too hot in Berlin anyway) but in late spring (such as May or June) or in the early fall (such as September or Oktober). I know, those are times when those wonderful sponsors give us payed work!!!
What a tough decision,
I know you will find a miracle date!

greetings from Berlin

Hello, lovely colleagues –

On behalf of the WOSonOS 2008 Host Team, I invite you to ‘pencil in’ these dates on your calendar – the WOSonOS 2008 in San Francisco will happen some time from mid-July to the end of July 2008.

The Host Team will soon be meeting to decide about incorporating a few more events into / near our WOSonOS – so we will be able to announce the _exact_ WOSonOS dates to you as soon as we are able to finalize all that.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on good times of the year to do this...and...stay...tuned...

Lisa
