& 26 -

If you'vwe already seen this forgive the duplication; would love to hear from
any of you using OS with the arts. It will be the base for the UN-related
project as well -

The Open Space Institute/USA has a happy mission. We hold space for open
space.

Today I have the wonderful task of announcing to the Open Space listserv that
one of the ways the Open Space Institute/USA holds space for open space is
giving financial support to help a few people attend a WOSonOS event. I love
this work, the work of helping to make it possible for someone to travel
internationally, to join in a circle of OS colleagues from all around the world
and to experience OS. Right now, each person reading this letter has now
joined our circle, now each person reading this is also holding space to fund
some colleagues to attend WOSonOS in San Francisco this July.

If you are reading this letter and find yourself wishing that you could attend
WOSonOS in San Francisco this July, 2008, but you are hesitating because you
don't see how you can fund it, please read on.

To revisit our funding criteria:
::: 1 - Projects that serve underserved areas of the world
::: 2 - Leveraged efforts that reach multiple people, especially in training or
other sustaining sorts of ways
::: 3 - Situations wherein other groups or individuals have already made
investments so that OSI-USA augments rather than initiates projects
::: 4 - Project sponsors and facilitators who will do good work and bring the
story back to the larger OS community
::: 5.. We ask that you please wait 3 years or more before you make another
request for funding from us, so that others may also have a chance to use these
resources. This is a flexible criteria. We are sitting in inquiry about how to
best manage our resources.

If you wish to submit a proposal to the Open Space Institute/USA for partial
funding to WOSonOs 08, which will be in San Francisco in July, the deadline for
proposals is May 6, 2008. Please send the proposals to me, at my email address:
tree.fitzpatrick#gmail.com. I will circulate them to all the members of this
board. We will decide which proposals, if any, we can fund this year at our
May board meeting and notify the parties involved immediately.

Very truly yours,

Tree Fitzpatrick, for the OSI/USA board
