Hi all! Skye Burn, a glorious social innovator based in Bellingham, Washington, sent this notice of an activity that looks remarkably like the Open Space talk-walking we have just been discussing. It looks like a whole lot of fun too! Carol

Awakening to the presence of the commons in both the * *personal and the public imagination is our new art form. It is also the leader's new work*.** Michael Jones** Much of the leader's work today is not in playing the notes but in listening for what is emerging in the space between. To listen wisely into these in-between spaces we need to find a new path of leadership that involves re-imaging our life and work—to do things not only differently but to see and hear with fresh eyes and fresh ears. · When do we feel most vital, alive and in the flow of our work? · Where do we go to discover a sense of place, beauty, and inspiration? · How can leaders—like artists—be sensitive to the life of their work and where it wants to go? · To what do we want to give voice—from a place of deep listening what are the stories we want to tell and bring forth? Through discovering our unique gifts and learning to sense emergent possibilities, through finding ease and grace in our work and crafting new and more evocative narratives, through trusting in the authority of our own stories and subjective experiences, and through connecting with a new center of being we can set free the inner capacities to meet new and complex challenges in ways that align with our deepest aspirations and the wisdom and intelligence held in our hearts. Often this inner quest is one that seems directionless, tentative, and unclear. Yet for those who are sensitive to its yearnings and are willing to follow where it wants to go, allowing this unfoldment ultimately awakens the sense of deep interconnectedness—a commons—a field of infinite possibility where we discover what is most deeply personal is also most universal. In this present time of uncertainty and change, Michael foresees an opportunity for a renaissance in leadership practice, a time for leaders to access a subtle intelligence and offer an imaginative response to our world, a time to mine the interstices between generative dialogue, leadership, creative artistry, and collective innovation in a way that is inspired, organic, welcoming, and engaged. These are the central themes we will explore in this unique workshop with Michael Jones. The Flow Project, The Sound Essence Project, and Michael invite you to take your leadership aspirations to a deeper level and awaken your heart to new possibilities in an environment that offers time alone in nature, evocative teaching stories, guided reflection, generative conversation, and beautiful improvised music throughout. *Cost *$100 early registration; $125 after March 31st.
